Case Studies
Our philosophy is that our clients’ success is our ultimate measure of achievement. Many happy clients have harnessed the power of Visual Purple to deliver powerful, customized learning solutions to their organization:
Simulation for a key satellite television company
This satellite television company’s aggressive Sports Package initiative required a superior method of employee training. To reach its goal, both seasoned and new call center employees needed to develop knowledge of the “NFL Sunday Ticket” product and to increase sales and customer service skills. Visual Purple’s training simulations placed the employees in accurate sales scenarios. In the immersive virtual environment, employees were faced with real, frequently asked customer questions. Through engaging play, they were taught to recognize key phrases and buying cues while practicing active listening skills. Five simulations were produced, each with updated scenarios to reflect evolving, real-world customer concerns and objections that call center employees were facing. The simulations included knowledge retention checks, and a motivating score system that aided this client in accomplishing successful “NFL Sunday Ticket” sales. The simulation won the Chief Leaning Officer Magazine’s Silver Award.
Simulation for Department of Homeland Security, Center for Domestic Preparedness
Contemporary terrorism threats have highlighted the importance of effective incident management strategies that necessitate multi-agency coordination and proficient first response teams. Homeland Security Presidential Directives 5 and 8, recognizing the importance of exceptional first response individuals, require all first responders to undergo thorough training. Visual Purple provided the national defense contractor with a simulation that met Presidential Directive requirements. By efficiently providing incident management information in an interactive and entertaining manner, the simulation encouraged a high retention rate. The two part format meets varying proficiency needs. ICS: Foundations takes place in a virtual classroom setting and teaches basic principles. ICS: Call to Action allows the user to apply the principles in a simulated, real-time incident. The cost effective, web based format allows for flexible training times and locations, thus eliminating the constraints of traditional training.
Simulation for the Defense Intelligence Agency: Gathering Storm
To train DIA employees in effective intelligence collection and debriefing procedures, Visual Purple created the interactive simulation Gathering Storm. By immersing trainees in detailed scenarios, they are able to practice and review proper tactical and strategic conduct when contacting and recruiting informants and other sources. As the simulation progresses, trainees must consider travel arrangements, appropriate meeting environments and locations, security issues, and the risk versus gain potential in each encounter. The 3D gaming appeal of the simulation encourages engagement and thus provides exemplary training and assimilation of knowledge.
Simulation for DIA Joint Military Intelligence Training Center: VISim
VISim is comprised of three simulations, Rapid Onset, Vital Passage, and Sudden Thrust, developed for the Joint Military Intelligence Training Center. These simulations, labeled “surprisingly clever” by Wired magazine, present trainees of varying levels of proficiency with real world missions and tasks in which they must develop critical thinking skills to analyze complex issues. The simulations provide an experimental learning space in which the trainees safely experience realistic consequences and rewards based on the actions they choose and the decisions they make. With screenplays created by Hollywood writers, high-fidelity animations, and realistic, interactive lessons, trainees gain valuable knowledge and experience in their field.
Simulation for DIA: Intelligence Oversight Intro
The Intelligence Oversight simulation is expertly designed to encourage the internalization of policy and procedure in Department of Defense personnel tasked with Intelligence Oversight. This engaging simulation teaches Intelligence Oversight and Department of Defense basics by presenting trainees with an urgent and realistic issue. The trainee learns that a convoy of diplomats is traveling through a fictional Middle Eastern country occupied by a known group of insurgents with significant IED and bomb manufacturing capabilities. The trainee must employ correct procedures to collect intelligence and utilize informed initiative to protect the convoy. By encouraging high levels of involvement, the simulation successfully reinforces optimal performance among personnel while reducing training time and cost and improving mission effectiveness.
Simulations for a Fortune 500 Pharmaceutical Corporation: Achieve Customer Effectiveness, Neurology & Diabetes
This major pharmaceutical company, with extensive organizational development resources and many excellent training improvement materials, employed Visual Purple to build a set of simulations that would more economically and efficiently implement their training resources. In the first simulation, sales representatives experience interactive scenarios in which effective sales procedures are presented and reinforced. Representatives are taught the proper contact and meeting procedures including the importance of pre-contact preparation, meeting location choice and etiquette, and follow up methods. Representatives are also trained in knowledge pertaining to specific products and uses. The second simulation is specifically tailored to the sales of neurological products and trains representatives in neurological diagnoses and treatment knowledge while the first simulation was created to focus on diabetes knowledge and sales. Both products serve as excellent training and information reference guides.
Simulation for American Wind Energy Association (AWEA):
New Line - Safety on the Rise Demonstration
To demonstrate the effectiveness of thematic animated 3D training simulations, Visual Purple created an engaging and interactive storyline highlighting safety practices in the alternative energy industry. The simulation incorporated proprietary technology, high-fidelity graphics, and an engaging plot that led the trainees to understand the importance of safety procedures. At the same time, the simulation demonstrated the expeditious nature of the learning processes when accomplished in a responsive, animated simulation.
Simulation for a major aerospace engineering company: Tactical Leaders Course Demonstration
Visual Purple contracted with a major aerospace engineering company to update and improve the US Army’s FCS Tactical Leaders Course demonstration. The superior product created by Visual Purple used modern proprietary technology to create an aesthetic, accurate, and up to date demonstration. The engaging experience used accurate characters and locations to immerse viewers and illustrated the efficacy and importance of thorough tactical leaders’ education.
Simulation for a large insurance brand and a related partner
This large insurance brand sought a qualified team to produce high-quality educational content to train their personnel in sales of a newly introduced car insurance package. A contractor for this large insurance brand hired Visual Purple to create the training medium. Visual Purple’s series of professionally produced 3D vignettes successfully and interactively aided the insurance company personnel in the assimilation and rehearsal of company procedure and important insurance package knowledge.
Simulation for one of the largest combination natural gas and electric utilities in the United States
Employee on-the-job safety is one of the top challenges facing utility providers today. This intelligent simulation training offers human performance tools for first line supervisors, educates new employees and provides refresher training for more seasoned employees. This is accomplished by utilizing a consistent instructional base to increase trainee knowledge and understanding of human performance implementation and procedures, reducing training time, and improving overall decision-making performance and safety in the work place. Visual Purple provides an interactive environment in which trainees are able to test skills and experience results before applying them to a dangerous, real-world scenario.
